GlossaryDEFINED TERM / INCIDENT-COMMUNICATION

Incident communication

The controlled exchange of situation, decisions and assignments during a security or operational incident.

Working definition

Incident communication must work when time, attention or parts of normal infrastructure are unavailable. It separates confirmed facts, assumptions, decisions and open actions instead of mixing everything into one message stream.

A resilient procedure defines owners, approvals, fallback channels, cadence, escalation and closure. The platform supports that process; it does not replace an incident plan or practised roles.

Three verification questions

  1. 01Can facts, assumptions and decisions be distinguished?
  2. 02Are roles and a fallback channel defined?
  3. 03Can the history be reviewed after the event?
